Last Friday, we gathered at glassybaby Madrona to say goodbye and thank you to Lindsey, who expertly handled inventory and quality control during her four-year tenure with us. Lindsey’s next adventure will take her to Los Angeles where she will begin studying to become a physical therapist.
If you purchased a glassybaby in the last four years, chances are pretty good that Lindsey had something to do with it. Whether she was cutting and checking in our color rods, organizing and inventorying all of our various packaging materials, or painstakingly checking glassybaby fresh from the annealing ovens, we were the lucky beneficiaries of her amazing organizational capabilities and attention to detail.
Lindsey was more than a valued employee and co-worker; she was our friend. We will miss her greatly. She was calm in the face of chaos, true blue dependable and could help you locate whatever you were looking for with GPS-like precision! The pain of saying goodbye is eased somewhat by the knowledge that she will be back in Seattle next summer for her wedding.
A Monday at glassybaby without Lindsey? It is hard to imagine. We will somehow muddle through, and remember the words of Richard Bach
“Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.”
We will miss you, Lindsey. Farewell for now.
