baby’s on board • a guest blog by Guy Farris

One of the best things about working at glassybaby is seeing the instantaneous look of recognition and appreciation on someone’s face when they spy the company’s logo printed on the t-shirt I’m wearing. It’s a badge of honor for me. I’m proud to work here. I love the company’s commitment to making an excellent product and its pledge to give back to the community. I recently discovered that we give back in another way too—by bringing a smile to the faces of stressed-out and frustrated motorists all over the Northwest. I’ve been driving the glassybaby van—filled with hundreds of glassybaby votives—to events all over Washington State, and I’ve noticed an unexpected and wonderful reaction: smiles! And plenty of them. Despite being caught in rush-hour traffic, the moment drivers see the van emblazoned with the glassybaby logo and realize what my precious cargo consists of, they smile, they wave and they even let me merge.  So, while I may help spread good feelings in the retail stores one, two and even three glassybaby at a time, I can reach an even bigger audience on our highways and byways by spreading joy 250—or more—glassybaby at a time. Look for me when you’re out and about. Give me a wave and a smile. I promise you’ll get the same in return.

Until next time,

Guy

debbie hits the road

Sometimes we plan road shows to see sites we’ve never seen, or taste food we’ve never eaten, but our favorite way to plan a road show is to visit the people we love and who love us back.

glassybaby Road Show 101

1.  We pack up hundreds of glassybaby into “debbie” (our nickname for the glassybaby van), drive to your town, meet you and yours, and become best friends.

2.  Unload debbie and throw a party… at your house, your barn, a restaurant, your club, or local event space. Think tables filled with glassybaby aglow as you mingle with your friends enjoying sweet background music and videos of our very own glassblowers making glassybaby by hand in our Seattle studio.

3.  Party goers then get to choose from hundreds of glassybaby, and 10% of the night’s sales go back to the charity of your choice.

4.  As the evening winds down, we clean up, pack debbie, hug goodbye, you promise to visit us in Seattle, and we thank you endlessly for the chocolate and potato chips you graciously give us for the road trip home.

Sound fun? Email us at roadshows@glassybaby.com and let us know why we should come to your town, and how we can make a difference by giving back to a cause that is near and dear to your heart.

See you on the road!
